Editorial Review

Friday's is well named as it certainly draws a crowd at the end of the week, but you needn't wait until the end of the week to enjoy the atmosphere at Friday's. Situated along the river on Brisbane's Eagle Street, the Riverfront Terrace is a perfect spot to catch a bit of sun while enjoying a long lunch. Friday's also does a mean tapas menu, which is ideal for those after-work drinks and nibbles. Choose a bottle of wine, or try a few different wines by the glass while nibbling on barramundi and sesame spring rolls with a chilli and lime syrup, or parmesan crumbed calamari with lemon aioli. Mixed olives with sourdough and pork-and-shallot won tons with a mirin dipping sauce complete the taste sensation.

The main menu offers relaxed cafe-style fare that has a twist of Asian and Mediterranean influence. Try the warm duck salad with soy lime dressing and shallot pancake, or an antipasto share plate of grilled and cured meats and vegetables. The Moroccan crusted salmon on rosti with limed spinach and horseradish cream certainly stands out among the mains, as does the twice-cooked duck on potato and wild mushroom dauphanoise with burnt orange glaze. Stay until late for some music and dancing as the club opens after 9pm.
